stompboxes for synthesists

unfortunately, almost all reviews of stompboxes are from the guitarist’s point of view, forcing me to read between the lines while listening to manipulated guitar sounds over and over again. it is often hard to appraise whether a combination of a pedal with synths or drums is fruitful or even meaningful at all. that is why i want to initiate a series which deals with stompbox reviews made for synthesists.

what have foxes and synthesizers in common?

the idea was born after carrying my heavy euro-modular case after a gig. in particular, this case was already intended to be portable (4 frames of 84te with 45.5×28.5x23cm made from glazed beech plywood). however, after some gigs i realized that the system is still too massive to be carried around effortlessly. in the beginning of 2012 i decided to combine the concept of minimal setup with a buchladian flavour. originally, i wanted to build a buchla-in-my-pocket since a couple of years but i had to postpone this idea for some good reasons…

on the electricmusicfox blog i’d like to present some stuff regarding hardware-based synthesizers which is somehow interesting to me. i’d like to focus on modular systems and mainly emphasize on the topic of euro-rack compatible systems. in particular, i like modifications and diy-projects. maybe, this might be a way to start communication and establish new contacts to other passionated enthusiasts. unfortunately, all of my projects are strictly non-commercial. thus,  i will neither sell any items nor accept any commissioned works. sorry my time is as short as yours.
